Reading 1 - A butxacades

A Butxacades shows us some difficulties that we could find in our task as teachers, and how difficult is to catch pupils’ attention and to achieve the appropriate silence to work. But that teacher’s diary made me think in the importance of the discipline in the class, not a several one, but a respectful one. Because if you respect your children and you try to demonstrate them how important is the respect and the silence to work better, the participation in class, etc. they could answer you in a positive way.

Teaching doesn’t mean only applying all the contents that the curriculum says, and doesn’t mean only do the class like a theoretical book says. Teaching means much more. In the reading “A butxacades” we could see a teacher who is applying the lesson plan that she had prepared without thinking in the necessities of the children.

Teaching means knowing your pupils, trying to adapt to their necessities, have a positive attitude, try to create a comfortable atmosphere, do interesting things to engage children to learn, share your knowledge and the knowledge of the pupils, etc.
